Naini Setalvad is a renowned nutritionist and obesity and health consultant. She has worked tirelessly to make people aware of the health and nutritional aspects of food and inculcate delicious and responsible eating habits for life. Her motto is to encourage people to remain active to the end, live a pain free existence and attain freedom from diseases and ailments. She believes that appropriate nutrition can help us stay mentally alert, focused, responsible and productive members of society. Her underlying philosophy is to help people live in harmony with nature and unleash the life giving energy of food.                                                          

Apart from her consulting practice where she has helped thousands of clients attain their personal health and fitness goals, she has across India conducted presentations and seminars on healthy eating practices, and lectured at several schools, colleges and corporate including Reserve bank  of  India Anushakti  bhavan ,  Hindustan Unilver-Aviance, Indian Merchant’s Chamber, Times  of  India  , Nicholas Piramal, Raymond’s, ABN Amro Bank, Nanavati hospital  British Gas, International Olive Oil Council; International Prune Council, USA Pear Council and Rotary Club meets.Lectured  in Schools  and  colleges  across India She has also organized several cooking demonstrations for organizations such as Inner Wheel Club, California Prunes, Musa Olive Oil and Gujarat Research.

She is a regular contributor to several online and offline publications  including the Times of India Group, Parenting Today, Complete Wellbeing, Hindustan Times, Marie Clare, msn.com, the Times Wellness portal and several regional language publications.

Naini has set up the ‘Health for You’ Foundation aimed at improving the nutritional status of under-privileged children. She is currently in the process of devising healthy eating and nutrition modules for a wider audience to educate them about the right food choices to treat chronic ailments and promote overall and lasting health and wellbeing.

She has also conducted corporate workshops to improve performance, memory, concentration and inter-personal relationships among employers. The workshops also focus on reducing stress, aggression levels and mood swings through modules focused on Healthy Living and Nutrition.

After  losing  a 100  kilos  at  the  age  of  34  in  1998 Naini received her certification from Goop Krishna Piramal Memorial Hospital in Sports, Fitness Science and Nutrition. In addition she received Diplomas from Health Care Administration, Chennai, in Diet Management; Nutrition and Dietetics and Nutrition problems in India.

JOURNEY

After journeying from 160 kgs to 60 kgs, Naini qualified as a nutritionist and she coaches people to improve health parameters and maintain optimum weight using wholesome Indian foods. She has a center in Mumbai. Naini motivates people across the country via seminars, articles and television appearances on health. Since her 7th grade till the age of 32, Naini struggled with weight loss and tried multiple diets from high protein, pill popping, health farms hospitalizations, meal replacements, name it and she did it. Finally, she shed her weight gradually with food and reached 60 kgs at the age of 34 in 1998. Her method was simple, balanced and nutritious as she used food combinations and ancient Indian wisdom to attain her goals. Thereafter she studied nutrition, worked with doctors and naturopaths and even Dr. Dhurinder who is an esteemed dietitian. She developed her own technique to help people lose weight and to keep it off sensibly. She started her own center – HealthForYou – in the year 2000.
